JTAGICE mkII: will it get updated? Hardly useable otherwise...

Hi,

when using USBprog with the current JTAGICE mkII firmware, the AVR Studio 4 has problems* with the device. It tries to upgrade it, but, of course fails on the USBprog clone implementation. In consequence it is not usable with AVR Studio 4. Unfortunately my target platform is not only Atmels but also Xilinx. When trying to connect the JTAGICE mkII clone to the Xilinx ISE Impact application, the device is not recognized. Probably this has to do with the changes in the firmware by Atmel? Anyhow, in the current state of the software the JTAGICE firmware does not seem to be usable in those two applications mentioned above.

Does someone use the JTAGICE firmware successfully in other applications?

*) The AVRISP mkII firmware works fine here
